Granita® Pussytoes

Brought to the Plant Select® program by John Stireman of Utah, Granita® Pussytoes is an improved selection of the native groundcover species known as Low Pussytoes. This plant bears tiny, silver leaves and takes on a dense, mat-like growth habit to cover dry soils while suppressing weeds. It blooms in early summer, topping its foliage in stemless, white, orb-shaped flowers that make great pit stops for a variety of native pollinators.

Once flowering is complete, just brush your hand over the plant to send the fine, fuzzy seeds airborne, leaving the plant clean – once established, this is virtually the only maintenance Granita® Pussytoes needs all year. Makes a great filler between flagstone pavers, a crevice garden addition, or an edger or groundcover for sunny, dry perennial beds and hellstrips.
